There have been many studies devoted to the study of communicative abilities in adolescence, the general theoretical laws of skill formation, as well as the psychological characteristics of the adolescent personality. However, it can be noted that the formation of communicative skills of schoolchildren in the process of learning history has not been comprehensively researched yet. In this regard, this article outlines the genesis and essence of the concept of "Communication", the etymology of the concept and its interpretation by various scientists, which form the methodological basis of this research.
