Othello and Mirzo Ulugbek tragedies are two renowned works of literature in their times. The two works narrate about love, jealousy, betrayal and tragic death of main characters that make the general plot engaging for the readers. This research study is conducted to search for similarities and differences of lexical units meaning sorrow and grief in two languages: English and Uzbek and the way of expressing these feelings in both nations` literature, taking into consideration the time and the place differences. Furthermore, the data provided to support the ideas are collected from variety of sources that have a correlation with the topic and research subject. Reliable sources include scientific works and literary books based on the topic and added after a long analysis of those materials. The methods of analysis illustrate that there are a number of scientists and authors who conducted their research on these works by approaching from other sides. According to the results of the research, it can be analysed that the characters` conflicts, attitudes to each other both have similar and dissimilar features in two languages.
